Mariska Bot, (1985) is currently working as assistant professor at aAmsterdam UMC. Mariska is project coordinator of the OPERA project and was also project leader of the MooDFOOD project. Her research interests include the interplay of depression and diabetes mellitus, biological aspects of depression and anxiety disorders, and symptom dimensions of depression.
From 2003-2008, Mariska studied Health Sciences at the VU University in Amsterdam. She completed her Master’s internships at the Municipal Health Service Hollands Noorden, Hoorn, and at the National Institute for Public Health Research and the Environment, Bilthoven. In 2008, Mariska received her Master’s degree in Public Health Research. After her study, Mariska started at Tilburg University as a PhD student, and focused on the relationship between depression and diabetes. As part of her PhD, Mariska visited Washington University, St Louis in the first months of 2010.
