Four junior researchers of our research group have received a junior award at the Spring Meeting of the Amsterdam Public Health (APH) research institute on May 14th.

Trees Juurlink won the first prize (2000 Euros) of the Personalized Medicine travel award competition. Trees will travel to Australia to the research group of prof. Chanen  (Orygen, Melbourne), where she will use their cohort data to examine longitudinal relationships between Borderline Personality Disorder and vocational functioning.

The Mental Health program of APH awarded 4 travel grants worth 1000 Euros. Two of the winners work (partly) at our department: Lisa van Zutphen and Eveline Schippers. Lisa will visit Ireland to replicate her LASA-findings on the interaction between depression and cardiovascular risk factors in the onset of cardiovascular disease (CVD)  in The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA). Eveline will present the results of her study on the development of deviant sexual interests at the Association of the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) conference in Atlanta (USA). Annelies Brouwer won one of the two paper awards worth 500 Euros with her paper “Effects of Light Therapy on Mood and Insulin Sensitivity in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes and Depression”  in Diabetes Care.
