Perform your research

Our research department conducts both qualitative and quantitative research. For general information about conducting your research, data collection, datamanagement and data analysis consult the Quality Handbook APH.

Datamanagement plays an increasingly important role in doing scientific research involving human subjects (both ‘WMO’ and ‘not WMO’). From subsidizing agencies, scientific journals, laws and regulations (including privacy) and from the point of view of scientific integrity, increasingly high demands are placed on the responsible handling of research data during all phases of the research process. FAIR data (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Re-usable) is the keyword.

In case of an audit or inspection it is obliged to have all essential research documents filed. This should be filed in a Trial Master File / Investigator Site File (TMF/ISF). Read more about this on archiving your data.

Data analyses

EpidM (VU/VUmc) organizes courses in epidemiological and advanced statistical methods and a Master’s Program in Epidemiology. The courses can provide important support in the design and analysis of your research. For more information see www.epidm.nl. APH members receive a discount for these courses.

The specialist for data analysis at our department is Tim Zandbelt (data integration).

Amsterdam Public Health has a Methodology program with lots of expertise on data analyses and methodology.
