Research themes

This project implements standard safety planning intervention through E-Health modules in participating psychiatric clinics. The primary research goal is measuring implementation success through uptake rates—the ratio between patients who could have had a digital safety plan versus those who actually received one after admission.

Secondary objectives include: (1) examining the normalisation of digital safety planning among nurses, (2) assessing nurses’ attitudes toward digital safety planning, (3) measuring patient satisfaction with digital safety planning, (4) monitoring usage across different clinics and patient age groups, (5) exploring patient experiences with digital safety planning post-discharge, and (6) describing follow-up GGZ care for patients who received digital safety plans.

The goal is for every admitted patient experiencing suicidality to create a digital safety plan together with their loved ones, which becomes available through a smartphone app upon discharge.
