Henny A.D. Visser is a psychotherapist and senior researcher at the department of psychiatry of Amsterdam University Medical Center. Henny combines clinical work, research and educational activities. She conducted research on chronicity and poor insight in people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) on the NOCDA cohort and conducted 2 multicenter RCT’s on the effectiveness of the Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for people with OCD. In the last of those two also the tolerability and neurobiological working mechanism of I-CBT compared to that of CBT is being studied. Currently her research focuses on the effectiveness and feasibility of online guided self help I-CBT and Brief Intensive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (BI-CBT) for people with anxiety related disorders.
