Henny Visser

PhD

Henny A.D. Visser is a psychotherapist and senior researcher at the department of Psychiatry of Amsterdam UMC. Henny combines clinical work, research and educational activities. She conducted research on chronicity and poor insight in people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) on the NOCDA cohort and conducted 2 multicenter RCT’s on the effectiveness of the Inference Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (I-CBT) for people with OCD. In the last of those two studies, she also studied the tolerability and neurobiological working mechanism of I-CBT compared to that of CBT. Currently her research focuses on the effectiveness and feasibility of online guided self help I-CBT and Brief Intensive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (BI-CBT) for people with anxiety related disorders.
