Sleep and Mental Health is the first Work Package of the NWA-ORC 2022 MenoPause Consortium (Dutch Research Agenda Research along routes by Consortia). The aim of the study is to pinpoint the determinants of complaints about sleep and mood and how they respond to Hormone Treatment and/or a guided eHealth sleep intervention that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia and Circadian Rhythm Support. Data assessment and interventions are facilitated by the Slaapregister.nl platform.
The randomized controlled study includes 200 peri-menopausal women seeking help for climacteric complaints (like hot flushes, feeling bloated, increase in weight, libido loss, vaginal dryness), including sleep problems, mood changes and depression.
