Research on the potential relationship between traumatic events, PTSD, and giftedness as an influencing factor appears to be limited or even absent. A review of the literature reveals a lack of understanding regarding the prevalence of PTSD among the gifted population and their vulnerability to impactful events or those meeting criterion A1. It remains unclear whether gifted individuals perceive significant events as more traumatic or which specific factors influence the development of PTSD within this group. There is an urgent need for further research to enhance understanding and address the needs of the gifted population with regard to PTSD.
