Milou Sep is a psychologist and senior researcher at Amsterdam UMC department of Psychiatry. As a neuroscientist she investigates individual differences in stress resilience and its consequences for mental health in the labs of Prof. Vinkers (Mood & Resilience lab) and Dr. Daskalakis (McLean, Harvard, USA).

Her work has a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary approaches and clinical translation, stretching  from animal studies and clinical trials to computational modeling. In addition she provides patient care as psychologist at GGZ inGeest, and she is actively involved in several Dutch and European networks, including stress-NL, the ECNP Resilience Network and the ECNP early career academy. Milou’s academic background includes Biomedical Sciences (BSc 2010), Clinical Psychology (BSc 2012; MSc 2015), and Neuroscience (MSc 2015; PhD 2022).
