Nienke Vulink is a psychiatrist at Amsterdam UMC in Amsterdam, Ig Nobel Prize winner in medicine in 2020, with expertise in obsessive-compulsive and related disorders (OCRDs) and has conducted her PhD research on the neurobiology and treatment of OCD. In addition, she has expanded her research to focus on body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) and body image disorders, with a particular interest in recognition and innovative treatments for BDD. She has also co-founded the Dutch Working Group on Hoarding and served as the past president of the Dutch Society for Psychodermatology. In collaboration with the Department of Dermatology, she has established a psychodermatology clinic. Additionally, Vulink has completed a master’s degree in Health Care Management and has held various leadership roles within the field of psychiatry, including being a board member of the Dutch Society of Psychiatry.
