Dr. Mardien L. Oudega obtained a Master degree in medicine and medical biology at the VU University hospital in Amsterdam. She is a registered psychiatrist and currently works at the outpatient clinic for older adults at GGZ inGeest in Amsterdam. In 2016 she defended her PhD on ECT in depressed older adults. As a senior researcher she works on several projects studying depression, cognition and sleep in older adults, including BrainFit, MODECT, the Amsterdam Ageing cohort and the BLOC pilot study of CBT-I in older adults with psychiatric disorders. Mardien obtained two grants to study cognition in mood disorders. She has (co)-authored 50 publications, supervises 4 PhD students and various Master students.
