Chris Vriend

PhD

As a clinical neuroscientist I study the pathophysiology of brain disorders and the neurobiological effects of treatment on brain structure and function. For this I use multimodal MRI and network analyses, and focus mostly on the effects of psychological treatment or non-invasive brain stimulation on disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and Parkinson’s disease. I’m involved as imaging experts in a number of international collaborations on obsessive-compulsive disorder and a course coordinator of advanced clinical neuroscience of the VU Master of Neuroscience and the functional neuroanatomy course of the ONWAR graduate school.
