“Better Nights, Better Days?” (BNBD) is a collaboration of a large number of researchers of Amsterdam UMC, Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience (NIN), University of Amsterdam, VU Amsterdam, GGZ inGeest and 20 other Mental Health Care institutes.
The harmonized randomized controlled studies aim to evaluate whether guided online Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia offered to people with clinically significant emotion regulation problems (either anxiety-, posttraumatic stress- or borderline- related):
1. improves objective and subjective sleep quality,
2. accelerates recovery and efficacy of treatment for these problems.

The study moreover aims:
1. to obtain mechanistic insights into the role of sleep quality in overnight dissipation of emotional distress,
2. to evaluate determinants of treatment efficacy.

Over 500 participants cover people with pre-clinical anxiety-, posttraumatic stress- or borderline- related symptoms of clinically significant severity, as well as people in treatment at basic- or specialized mental health care.
