Malindi van der Mheen is a senior researcher at the subdepartment of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is actively involved in the DREAMS consortium (www.dreams-study.nl), where she supervises multiple PhD projects. Furthermore, she supervises PhD projects on brief intensive trauma treatment in both the Netherlands and Bonaire. This research aims to optimize evidence-based interventions for trauma-related disorders in youth, ensuring accessibility and effectiveness across different cultural contexts.
In addition to trauma treatment, Malindi has a strong interest in the role of lifestyle factors in child and adolescent psychiatry. She explores how aspects such as physical activity, sleep, and nutrition influence mental health outcomes, aiming to integrate lifestyle-based interventions into clinical practice.
