Isidoor Bergfeld

Isidoor Bergfeld is a psychologist and researcher at the departments of Medical Psychology and Psychiatry of the Amsterdam UMC. His scientific work focuses on neuromodulation of treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders. His main focus lies on the efficacy, cognitive and neural effects of deep brain stimulation (DBS) for depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder. In addition, he studies the cognitive effects of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). He has a specific interest on the effects of ECT on autobiographical memory and the link to identity formation in adolescents and young adults.
