Jet Heering

PhD

Jet Heering is a Clinical Psychologist in training at GGZ inGeest,  and as postdoctoral researcher affiliated to the Amsterdam UMC and 113 Dutch Suicide Prevention Foundation. Her current research centers on suicide prevention measures for mental health care.

As principal investigator of multiple funded studies, her work includes implementing safety planning procedures through smartphone applications, randomised controlled trial examining the efficacy of cognitive-behavioural therapy for suicide prevention (CT-SP), and the development of HARMONY—an innovative suicide evaluation methodology for organisational learning and postvention. Her long-term vision addresses a critical gap in mental healthcare: to transform institutional cultures from fear and blame, toward evidence-based support systems, ultimately improving both clinician wellbeing and patient safety outcomes.
