Aims: 2-ASAP aims to develop a sex-specific prognostic screening instrument derived with state-of-the art methodological approaches to reliably determine which recently exposed trauma-exposed individuals are at high risk to develop long-term PTSD, and precisely target preventive interventions towards these individuals.
Design: 2-ASAP uses both existing and newly to be collected observational prospective cohort data. The existing cohort will be used to derive the prognostic screening instrument, while the new cohort will be used for external validation of this instrument, and to investigate the secondary objectives. Both cohorts include a first baseline assessment within the first weeks post-trauma and include 4 follow-up assessments until one year post-trauma. The new cohort involves N=863 individuals (age 18+, 49% men) with acute accidental injury or (threatened) assault.
Collaborators: The consortium project involves partners from a variety of universities and health care institutions and advocacy organizations, including Utrecht University (Clinical Psychology and AI-aided knowledge discovery lab), Amsterdam University Medical Centers, Slachtofferhulp (Victim’s Support) Nederland, Arq National Psychotrauma Center and Erasmus Medical Center.
