Trained as psychologist, Luuk Stapersma currently combines clinical care as healthcare psychologist within Levvel and research as senior researcher within Amsterdam UMC.
In his work Luuk focuses on youths with OCD, anxiety, tic disorders, selective mutisme and misophonia and their families, for which he also coordinates the center of expertise within Levvel. In collaboration with prof. dr. Ramón Lindauer, prof. dr. Jeroen Legerstee and dr. Chaim Huijser, he is working on several research projects to improve mental health care for these youths. His main focus is on family accommodation in psychopathology and family-based treatment for anxiety and OCD. Luuk is involved in the Dutch Kenniscentrum SPACE-NL (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), that aims to disseminate this method in the Netherlands. In 2025, Luuk will become both provider and trainer for SPACE.
