As a psychiatrist Annette Boenink has been working in Consultation – Liaison Psychiatry and at the Med-Psych Unit for her entire career. For her contribution to the development of consultation-liaison psychiatry and integrated care, Annette was granted the Frits Huyse Award at the 2024 EAPM conference.
In 2025, she will change the focus of her clinical work to outpatient care for patients with Persistent Physical Symptoms at the Centre for Soma & Psyche in Amsterdam UMC. Her clinical and research interests are holistic and integrated care, including work on the Intermed method to provide integrated care for complex patients, and Shared Decision Making. She is also a co-researcher in the “Sitters” project, a project that aims to diminish the use of restraints by deploying trained medical students.
