Anna Goudriaan is a professor in working mechanisms and treatment of addiction at the Department of Psychiatry, Amsterdam UMC, University of Amsterdam and Arkin Mental Health Care. She is a licensed mental health psychologist (GZ-psycholoog) at the TOPGGz Department of Jellinek. Her research encompasses innovative addiction treatment methods which target working mechanisms, such as neuromodulation and psychological interventions in impulsivity, focusing on gambling, alcohol, and cannabis use disorder and comorbidities. She is the head of the Amsterdam Institute of Addiction Research (www.aiar.nl) and supervised multiple RCT projects, and innovative research projects in addiction care. She (co) authored over 200 international papers, book chapters and national papers. She was the chief editor of European Addiction Research and serves as an (associate) editor on multiple international journals in the field of behavioral addictions and substance use disorders. In addition, she teaches as guest lecturer at several universities in the Netherlands.
