The aim of my research is to improve the outcomes of childhood mental disorders and prevent a chronic course. An important focus in my work is to identify family factors, including genetic, that influence the course of symptoms. Moreover, I work on the development of integrated care for families with both a child and a parent having mental health issues to get better outcomes for both.
Research section Family Mental Health – head Christel Middeldorp
We focus on identifying family factors, including genetic, that influence the course of symptoms. Moreover, we work on the development of family based mental health care across child and youth mental health services and adult mental health services. The aim is to prevent mental health symptoms where possible and optimally treat mental disorders if necessary.
